The Comet was born out of Nigel’s own boards that he used for surfing over the last 20 years, and the model has been developed through combining team rider input and extensive bottom shape testing.
The bottom shape consists of a single concave transitioning into a deep double concave into a vee through the tail. It has a slightly wider template to give more wetted area through the tail and the comet is shaped with a swallow tail to give you bite in the turns. The tail has a nice curve in the rocker line to help the board sit in the shape of the face of the wave when surfing off the back foot. Nigel believes the Comet is one of the best shapes all round UK waves, as it’s a user friendly surfboard designed to be suitable for medium sized waves. This is a great board to opt for if you’re looking for a daily driver and quiver staple which will help progress your surfing.
This board is recommended with a thruster fin set up, for speed and manoeuvrability, and will suit surfers from intermediate abilities to professional level.
